The Society of Independent Show Organizers, SISO, the leading voice for the for-profit exhibition industry announced today that it has selected its 2016 list of participants for its fourth annual Event Innovation Battlefield competition that will take place on August 11, 2016 in Cleveland during the annual SISO Leadership Conference (being held August 9-11).

Industrial Automation Shenzhen 2016 (IA Shenzhen) recently ran June 29-July 1 and held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre (SZCEC).
The three-day show attracted nearly 450 industrial automation enterprises from 13 countries and regions, approximately 30 robot brands showcased products covering some 30,000 square meters.
More than 120 VIP buyer groups have confirmed their participation in the show. To facilitate visitors, the organizers have invited nearly 40 professional buyers to arrange more than 80 matchmaking events between exhibitors and visitors.

Hannover Fairs (Canada) Inc., the subsidiary to Germany-based Deutsche Messe, has acquired a 50-percent stake in Truck World, the largest commercial vehicle trade show in Canada, from the event’s owner - Newcom Business Media.
Truck World will be organized and managed jointly by Hannover Fairs and Newcom in the even years through the Truck World Show Partnership.
The next Truck World Show takes place in Toronto on April 19-21, 2018.

Reed Exhibitions recently named JB Son Country as general manager of its South Korea operations. Son is based in the Reed Seoul office and reports to the president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China.
Son holds a Bachelor of Communications degree from Busan National University, as well as an MBA from Seoul National University, Korea.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) that will drive tourism traffic and exchanges between the two popular destinations.

Earlier this week, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) published its annual report for the financial year ended 31st March 2016. Revenues generated from exhibitions and mission were US$246 million, representing moderate growth of 1.7% over the previous year. The HKTDC’s total revenues, including the government subvention of US$51 million, posted a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%, amounting to US$355 million.

Earlier this week, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) opened its 23rd Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer. The theme of this year’s edition was “Garden Breeze.”
Running from 4th to 7th July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the four-day event featured more than 1,200 exhibitors from 18 countries and region, showcasing the latest fashions, international brands, garments, fabrics and accessories.
