New Business Contracts: Core-Apps, CompuSystems, E.J. Krause All Score New Contracts

With business winding down into the holiday season, companies who provide services to the trade show industry continue to score new contracts before the end of the year.

Event technology company, Core-Apps, has been selected to provide mobile apps for Professional Convention Management Association’s signature events in 2017, including the Convening Leaders and Education Conferences.

Core-apps also will support a mobile app help desk and a tech kiosk at both events.

Emerald Expositions Buys Another Show - RFID Journal LIVE!

Emerald Expositions has acquired its third show in the past several weeks - the RFID Journal LIVE! Event - from RFID Journal.

The company also bought National Pavement Expo from AC Business Media and Digital Dealer Conference & Expo from Dealer Communications.

RFID Journal LIVE! is the world’s largest event focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and related technologies, bringing together buyers, sellers, researchers, academics, consultants and others interested in using RFID technologies to identify, track and manage assets and inventories.

As US Election Wraps Up, NAB Show New York Takes Over Javits Center

If you watched the U.S. Presidential Election coverage on Tuesday night, you likely saw a crowd of people gathered under the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center’s glass ceiling in New York. What you didn’t see was hidden underneath that crowd - NAB Show New York was set up and ready to open just hours later, early on Wednesday morning Nov. 9.   

2016 NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show Draws 23,000-plus to Atlanta

The 2016 NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show drew 23,301 overall attendees, marking the third consecutive year the convenience and fuel retailing industry’s biggest event in the U.S. has topped more than 23,000 attendees.

The NACS Show attracted 8,228 buyers, which are classified as retailers and convenience distributors, including the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) registration.

The last time the NACS Show took place in Atlanta was 2013, when overall attendance reached 22,236 and buyer registration was 7,784.

GES Scores Whopping 52-percent Q3 Revenue Increase

The third quarter of this year was a huge one for Global Experience Specialists, scoring $287 million in revenues, compared with $189.9 million during the same quarter the year before, a whopping 52-percent increase.

“GES delivered strong third quarter revenue growth and the team did an excellent job driving the additional revenue to the bottom line,” said Steve Moster, who leads GES and its’ parent company Viad.

ABC Kids Expo Welcomed 12,000-plus Attendees to Las Vegas

ABC Kids Expo, organized by All Baby & Child Corporation, welcomed more than 12,000 attendees and 900-plus exhibitors to its 1 million square foot showfloor Oct. 18-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Virtually every significant manufacturer and distributor of products for infants and small children, as well as many startups by parents, showed off their products, ranging from furniture and strollers to smudge-free chalk, timers for milk bottles and a sandwich cutter that turns pb&j into minions.

UBM Adds New Advanced Manufacturing Show in Cleveland

Manufacturing has contributed $99.8 billion to Ohio's Gross Domestic Product and is the largest of the 20 sectors in the state's economy.

Building on this growth, UBM, which has a large portfolio of advanced manufacturing shows such as MD&M West and EastPack, will launch Advanced Design & Manufacturing (ADM) Cleveland March 29-30 at the Cleveland Convention Center.

In a room last week at IMEX America in Las Vegas, 135 people gathered to learn about the official launch of the Exhibitions and Meetings Safety and Security Initiative (EMSSI), which was founded to address safety and security concerns at venues around the United States.
