Reed Exhibitions Buys Miami-based Jewelers International Showcase
Adding to its jewelry portfolio, Reed Exhibitions has acquired Miami-based Jewelers International Showcase (JIS).
JIS runs three events all held at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Thousands of retailers attend the JIS Events from the United States, Caribbean and Latin America to do business with almost 700 exhibitors.
"This is an exciting opportunity to expand our jewelry portfolio, offering our customers broader reach to retailers in the Caribbean and Latin American markets,” said Yancy Weinrich, senior vice president, JCK.
He added, “The JIS Events offer a unique opportunity for buying and will continue to deliver enhanced customer value and a broader pool of retailers in this growing market.”
The events will join the JCK Events in Reed Exhibitions' U.S. jewelry portfolio, which includes shows such as JCK Las Vegas Show.
The JIS Events occur in January, April and October, timed around jewelry retailers’ ability to stock and place last minute orders for key holiday buying seasons.
Jordan Tuchband, vice president of Sales & Operations JIS, will join Reed Exhibitions as industry vice president for JIS Events.
Tuchband has led the JIS event team for 10 years and brings with him the experience and passion needed to continue to drive the business forward, according to Reed officials.
One of his primary objectives will be to lead the sales and marketing efforts for the JIS Event brand and strengthen brand relationships.
"JIS' product range covers all price points from high-end designers to popular-most of the products on the show floor represent middle and higher price points, which are ideal for the retail audience that JIS attracts," Tuchband said.
He added, "There is something for every type of retailer at JIS, including independent stores that place lower volume orders. JIS also allows the immediate delivery of jewelry, which eliminates a long wait for retailers to have product delivered."
Michael Breslow has overseen JIS Events for 40 years and will continue with the as a consultant to Reed Exhibitions.
