Trade Show News Network Releases 2013 Top 50 Canadian Trade Show List
Trade Show News Network (TSNN) has unveiled the 2013 TSNN Top 50 Canadian Trade Show list of rankings.
Culled from show management and data supplied to TSNN, the list represents the top 50 trade shows held last year ranked by net square footage in Canada. The full list can be found at: http://www.tsnn.com/toplists-cdn.
Snagging the No. 1 spot once again for 2013 was Regina Exhibition Association’s Canada's Farm Progress Show, with a whopping 1,232,670 net square foot showfloor at Evraz Place in Regina, Saskatchewan.
The show, held last year in June, also drew 843 exhibiting forms, 5,311 exhibiting personnel and 43,956 attendees, as saw increases across the board, compared with the year before.
“Canada’s Farm Progress Show (CFPS) a proud member of The Farm Show Council, is honored to be recognized by Trade Show News Network as Canada’s largest tradeshow for the fourth year in a row,” said Ken Taylor, director, Trade and Consumer Events for EVRAZ Place.
He added, “This recognition provides strength to the CFPS brand and adds credibility, which is so important when attracting exhibitors and producers as well as international support for the trade show.We used the TSNN No. 1 ranking as a major part of our marketing and brand strategy for the 2013 trade show. This new brand initiative proved to be very successful.”
Taking back the Nos. 2 and 3 spots again last year were the Canadian Gift Association’s CanGift Toronto Gift Fairs (formerly CGTA Toronto Gift Shows ) – Jan. and Aug., respectively.
The shows were held at the Toronto Congress Centre/International Centre and both spanned more than 400,000 net sq. ft.
“The Toronto Gift Fair is extremely honored to hold second and third place in TSNN’s Top 50 Canadian Shows for 2013,” said Karen Bassels, vice president of Toronto Gift Fair.
She added, “CanGift fairs, which include the Alberta and Quebec Gift Fairs, strive to create the best trade forum experience possible for its exhibitors and buyers in the Canadian gift market.”
In the fourth position was the Canadian Western Agribition, with 306,000 net sq. ft. at Westerner Park in Red Deer, AB.
Toronto dominated as the city with the most shows on the 2013 TSNN Top 50 Canadian Trade Show, with 24.
Edmonton, Montreal and Vancouver all had six shows each.

The continued growth in number and scope of the events we successfully host speaks volumes about Toronto, our venues and our record of success.”
The busiest month on the calendar for the largest shows in Canada was January, with eight, followed by November, with seven.
The slowest months of the year were December and July, with one show each.
