UBM Japan Pharma Returns with Record Growth
UBM live, a subsidiary of UBM plc., reported a record attendance of 14,473 attendees at its Japanese Pharma Portfolio of events this year – an increase of 17 percent, compared with 2010. The collection of events were held at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center March 21-23 and included CPhI Japan, ICSE Japan, P-MEC Japan and the new Pharmatec Japan.
The four collocated pharmaceutical events serve the ingredients, outsourcing solutions, machinery and technology, and the packaging and delivery technology sectors. A new BioPh Pavilion was also added to this year’s show to specialise in the biotechnology sector.
Andrew Pert, regional director of UBM Live, said, “In 2012, there were 498 exhibitors from across the globe. 289 of these were international companies from more than 30 countries, which served as the inspiration to host national pavilions for attendees to easily locate new business partners in countries including China, India, Korea, the U.K., Italy, and Latvia. We expect this international trend to continue with more than 40 countries set to be represented when the Japanese Pharma Portfolio of events returns to Tokyo in 2013.
