The Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show broke attendance records once again this year at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. The SHOT Show, owned and sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, attracted a record overall attendance of 62,371, including a new high for buyers and more than 2,000 media representatives. There also were 1,600-plus exhibitors who filled booth space that covered 630,000 net square feet. “Design, Innovate and Engage” was the theme for the 2013Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders annual meeting that took place Jan. 13-16 in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center. Riding the waves just seems to be getting more and more popular every year as evidenced by George Little Management’s biannual Surf Expo event, which was held Jan. 10-12 in Orlando and grew to record-breaking levels. U.K.-based Tarsus Group has expanded its portfolio even more in fast-growing Indonesia with a 51-percent stake in PT Infrastructure Asia. CTIA-The Wireless Association and IFA, the world's largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, have teamed up to hold a "borderless" trade show in 2014. The partnership will produce the first global platform of its kind for retailers, buyers, distributors, manufacturers, vendors and carriers to launch the next generation of new products and services for work, home and play. POWER- GEN International, held Dec. 11-13 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, broke attendance records with 22,000 attendees and 1,400 exhibitors.
