The highest-ever attended Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2015 concluded in March with huge increases in both exhibitor and visitor figures as the fair took place for the first time at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai). The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) plans to hold a road show in Japan later this month. The “Thailand Connect the World: Japan Business Events Road Show 2015” will be held April 21 at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. UBM India held the 11th edition of its three-day, Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE). The exhibition was held in Chennai at the Chennai Trade Centre. It ran from 20th to 22nd March and attracted nearly 300 exhibitors including retailers, wholesalers and designers. The event featured categories covering gold, diamonds, pearls, gemstones, silver and a variety of other jewellery products. The Shenzhen International Machinery Manufacturing Industry Exhibition (SIMM) opened this week with more than 1,100 exhibitors from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and 16 other countries and regions. UBM Asia’s Water Philippines Expo was held this week at the SMX Convention Center in Manila. The three-day event ran from the 25th to 27th March and featured the water and wastewater industry’s latest services, technologies and equipment. Earl C. Hargrove, founder of Hargrove, a general service contracting company, passed away at age 86. Hargrove CEO Tim McGill and President Carla Hargrove-McGill issued the following statement: “It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that Earl C. Hargrove, Jr., an icon of the events industry, passed away peacefully early this morning surrounded by his family.
