After announcing a partnership agreement last month, Reed Exhibitions and Manch Communications announced a further extension to their partnership in India – a new trade show, the India Composites Show, will be launched later this year. Exhibition organiser, Diversified Exhibitions Australia, will launch a new event for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in the western Australian city of Perth. Entitled the Australian Gas Technology Conference and Exhibition (AGT), Diversified is expecting the attendance of around 150 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors at the inaugural event. A total of US$326 million will be spent on upgrades to the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Suntec Singapore) and Suntec City Mall. Funded by ARA Trust Management, the managers of Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust, a US$142 million of the total sum will be allocated to Suntec Singapore. The inaugural China Xiamen International Kitchen & Bathroom Fair will be held at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Centre Nov. 5-8. The event is organised by Xiamen Jinhongxin Exhibition Co., Ltd, a local exhibitions organiser in Xiamen, and will occupy 35,000 square meters of exhibition space with 1,500 booths and more than 60,000 visitors. Event organiser UBM Live, a subsidiary of UBM, unveiled the new CPhI South East Asia to take place in Jakarta next year. The debut exhibition is the latest geo-clone of UBM’s pharmaceutical exhibitions CPhI, which also includes CPhI India, Japan, China, South America and Worldwide. CPhI South East Asia will be hosted at the Jakarta International Expo and run from May 10-12. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council opened its fourth Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair earlier this month at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. According to the HKTDC, a record 934 exhibitors from 37 different countries and regions attended the show to make it Asia’s biggest wine show by number of exhibitors. The HKTDC reported exhibitor numbers up 37 percent from the previous edition, which saw first time exhibitor participation from Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Malta, the Slovak Republic and Sweden. The 11th edition of the Shanghai International Children-Baby-Maternity Industry Expo (CBME), organised by UBM China (Hangzhou), closed with record results at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The three-day exhibition covered some 80,500 square meters of exhibition space according to its organiser, while a record-breaking trade visitor crowd of 88,062 from 78 countries and regions were present. According to various media reports, the Wuhan International Expo Center is set to open its doors on Oct. 15 in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province, China. The new venue will feature 190,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space. The reported size will rank the Wuhan International Expo Center third largest in China, behind the Pazhou Complex of the Chinese Export & Import Commodities Fair Ground in Guangzhou and the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Bangkok, 8th September: Also this month, the third edition of Pack Print International received a record 200 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions. The four-day trade show, jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, The Thai Packaging Association and The Thai Printing Association, attracted an estimated 17,000 visitors from over 50 countries and regions – a jump of 40% versus the previous edition in 2009.
