Global Sources’ Miami Sourcing Fair Sees 16-percent Growth

The second edition of the China Sourcing Fairs in Miami, organised by Hong Kong-based Global Sources, reported a space growth of 16% over its inaugural edition. The event was held from 10th to 12th July 2012 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, which expanded into a second exhibition hall this year.

 

The three-day trade show was jointly organised with the Trade Development Bureau of China, and covered products in Baby & Children’s Products, Electronics, Fashion Accessories, Garments & Textiles, Gifts & Premiums and Home Products. Also co-located at this year’s show were the Home Products and Garments & Accessories shows from the India Sourcing Fair.

 

Tommy Wong, president of Global Sources Exhibitions, said, “China’s trade value with Latin America rose 31.5% in 2011 to US$241.5 billion. Only the U.S. exceeds China in the level of trade with Latin America. According to estimates, Latin America could surpass the E.U. as China’s largest trading partner by as early as 2017… Growth in the events is a reflection of growing interest from buyers and from China suppliers who want to get a foothold in the Latin American market.”
