UBM Asia to Launch Food Processing & Packaging Asia in Thailand
UBM Asia (Thailand) has announced the launch of the inaugural Food processing and Packaging Asia 2011 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to take place alongside the 7th edition of Food ingredients Asia (Fi Asia). Both events will run Sept. 21-23. Fi Asia will be co-organised with the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand, National Food Institute, the Federation of Thai Industries and Thai Food Processors’ Association.
UBM has reported a 70-percent growth for Fi Asia since its 2009 edition in Thailand, and the company is expecting more than 10,000 visitors to attend. UBM also reports the food export industry of Thailand is expected to grow more than 8 percent to around $22 billion this year. Organisers are expecting to generate more than $33 million of business at this year’s event.
Chairman of UBM Asia (Thailand) Manu Leopairote said, “The success of Food ingredients Asia in Thailand two years ago has resulted in high interest to the technology of food manufacturing, processing and packaging. To ensure that this event displays the technology for developing the food industry in an integrated way, Food Processing and Packaging Asia 2011 (FPPA 2011) is organised alongside Fi Asia 2011. It is Thailand's first all-in-one event for the food industry.”
