According to a 'State of Sales' report published by Salesforce in November 2016, growing the number of leads/new customers tops the leading sales objectives for sales professionals worldwide. Fifty-six percent of the more than 3,100 sales professionals from a variety of industries who responded to the survey cited this as their number one priority. At the same time, many B2B companies are finding it difficult to achieve their sales goals. During the August Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s board of directors meeting, employee Bill Darwin was recognized for his upcoming 100thbirthday in a surprise presentation. Darwin officially will celebrate the milestone on August 19. This week, the U.S.-based Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced the acquisition of the Incentive, Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP). No financial details of the deal were released. The inaugural Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) was held from 21st to 25th July 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The new show was held concurrently with the 28th Hong Kong Book Fair which was also held at the HKCEC from 19th to 25th July. The 20th edition of Pet Fair Asia will open next month running from 24th to 27th August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The event is positioned as one of the largest in the region and covers the dog, cat, rodent, reptile and aquatic segments. Organised by VNU Exhibition Asia, Pet Fair Asia will occupy eight halls at SNIEC covering an exhibition space of 100,000 m2. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre has continued to be the top venue for international organisers staging world-class exhibitions and conferences in Hong Kong. During the fiscal year 2016-2017 (July 2016 to June 2017), a total of 1,102 events were held at the HKCEC, including 116 exhibitions and 104international and local conferences, along with hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events.
