Description

The AFRIWOOD AFRICA is a premier international exhibition that brings together the best selection of products and technology from around the world for the woodworking industry in East Africa. The event attracts trade visitors from all over East & Central Africa and several regional trade bodies in Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, Mozambique & Congo. Woodworking industry in Tanzania is a growing and diverse sector that involves the production of various wood products, such as furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, panels, and crafts.

Tanzania has abundant natural resources for woodworking industry, such as forests, plantations, and wood waste. Tanzania also has a large domestic market for wood products, especially furniture, due to the increasing urbanization, population growth, and income levels. Tanzania also has potential export markets for wood products in the region and beyond, especially in the Middle East and Europe.  Regional growth is on an upward trajectory in East Africa, though varying significantly by country. The Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region continues to maintain competitiveness in GDP growth when compared to the rest of Africa. The Export Zone Processing Agency established in 2008 to accelerate manufacturing exports and help the country achieve structural transformation has helped attract close to $1 billion in foreign direct investment and revive the manufacturing sector into one of the fastest growing in Africa.

Come, be a part of progress in Africa!
