Description

The OIL & GAS KENYA - International Trade Exhibition, is a premier business fair for key players in the oil and gas community, attracting leading oil, gas and petroleum companies from around the world. This international trade event serves as the sole networking opportunity in the resource-rich East African region for many of the leading operators in the country. Oil & Gas Kenya offers participants the opportunity to showcase the industry's latest products, services and technologies to trade visitors from all over East & Central Africa as well as several regional trade bodies in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, Mozambique & Congo.

The oil and gas industry in Kenya is a relatively new but promising sector, encompassing upstream oil and gas exploration and development activities, midstream petroleum infrastructure development and downstream activities, including manufacturing and the wholesale and retail trade in refined fuels and petroleum products. Kenya has attracted oil & gas companies not only because of its ports and strategic location but also because the government is keen expanding the resource exploration. Oil discoveries in Uganda and Kenya and gas deposits found off Tanzania and Mozambique have turned east Africa into a hot spot for hydrocarbon exploration. The oil and gas industry in Kenya contributes to about 4% of the country's GDP.

The upstream oil and gas sector requires various types of equipment and services, such as drilling rigs, seismic surveys, well testing, logging, cementing, stimulation, completion, production, maintenance, decommissioning, environmental management, security, logistics, and consultancy. There are opportunities for local and foreign companies to supply these equipment and services to the upstream oil and gas operators in Kenya
