Description

All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE, also known as Shanghai Leather Fair) is the definitive and only international leather fair in China. Organised by China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and APLF Limited, ACLE is the premier event for international companies seeking opportunities in China’s huge markets – the focus of the global leather industry. Since its inception back in 1998, ACLE has welcomed hundreds of thousands of buyers from the main tannery and leather goods / footwear manufacturing provinces of Mainland China. ACLE has proven itself to be the fastest-growing leather fair in the context of China being the main areas of growth in the global leather industry, and the strong demand for leather from surrounding countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia. Indeed, the China leather industry is leading the world in the following areas:

  • China produces most leather in the world, and has a huge demand for hides and skins, leather chemicals and leather machineries.

  • China is the unchallenged leader of footwear exports with a market shares of 40%, and leading the demand for shoe leather, shoe components and shoe making machines.

  • China is the biggest automotive manufacturing country, producing 30% of the total numbers of cars in the world, making it the largest importer of automotive and upholstery leather.

  • ACLE is the official leather exhibition co-organised by the ruling authority of leather in China – the CLIA together with its joint organiser, APLF Limited.

The company prioritizes procuring goods and services from businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities, LGBTQ individuals and those facing economic disadvantages. The story extends beyond the numbers – it reflects the tangible benefits brought to small and diverse-owned businesses, fostering economic empowerment in their communities.    MGM Resorts also supports the development and business skills of diverse-owned businesses through investment, mentorship and education. Through the MGM Resorts Supplier Diversity Mentorship Program, the company identifies, mentors and develops diverse-owned businesses to fill its future pipeline, while providing businesses with tools and resources to empower and uplift. Since 2017, the program has successfully graduated 105 diverse-owned businesses and is on track to achieve its goal of 150 graduates by 2025.     MGM Resorts’ commitment to supplier diversity not only enhances its business operations but also plays a crucial role in uplifting communities and fostering economic development.
