2013 IAAPA Leadership Conference Set to Take Place in S�o Paulo
The 2013 International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions’ Leadership Conference and Latin America Networking Event will take place March 6-8 in São Paulo, Brazil.
The event will provide insights into six amusement parks, family entertainment centers, water parks, zoos and museums located around São Paulo, according to association officials.
“The 2013 IAAPA Leadership Conference is an excellent way for attractions industry professionals to learn firsthand from some of the most successful operators in the region,” said Paul Noland, IAAPA president and CEO.
Event attendees will receive a hands-on education and go behind the scenes at attractions such as Wet ’n’ Wild, a water park containing 23 attractions and 7 million liters of water; Hopi Hari, one of the largest and most modern theme parks in Latin America; O Mundo da Xuxa, a small theme park featuring 20 attractions, including a roller coaster and indoor flume ride; Museu do Futebol, a soccer museum that ranks among the top five most-visited museums in Brazil; the São Paulo Zoo, which houses more than 3,200 species over a 824,529-square-meter area; and KidZania, a family entertainment center chain that has already drawn 20 million customers to its 11 locations worldwide.
Brazil, an expanding country of nearly 200 million and home of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics, will give attendees of this event the opportunity to connect withleading Latin American attractions industry operators and suppliers and strategically position themselves and their business to prosper in an emerging market, according to IAAPA officials.
“Brazil is one of the largest growing markets in the attractions industry,” said Paulina Reyes, vice president of IAAPA’s Latin American operations.
She added, “Having the 2013 IAAPA Leadership Conference in Brazil allows the region’s attractions industry professionals to network, share ideas, and learn from one another so as the middle class continues to emerge and the demand for entertainment increases, the industry is well positioned to capitalize on this growth and the opportunity it presents.”
Attractions industry professionals ranging from operations specialists and middle managers to CEOs are expected to attend.
