Event Tech News: NoteAffect, ExpoFP and IndoorAtlas, Event Leadership Institute and Map Your Show Unveil Innovative Offerings
Event technology continues to rapidly evolve, providing the industry with inventive strategies for marketing and producing the most successful, engaging and efficiently run gatherings. Check out some of the latest solutions aiming to make the event experience easier and more rewarding for organizers, marketers and attendees alike.
NoteAffect
NoteAffect, an AI driven software learning and workflow management platform for conferences, launched Event-Ace, a new platform specifically created for the events industry. Based on the company’s award- winning platforms Note-Smart for education and Meeting-Master for enterprise, Event-Ace will use the same technology base.
“Drawing upon our extensive expertise in the event industry, we explored the challenges facing organizers in today’s hyper digital world,” said Jesse Snipper, COO of NoteAffect. “We then crafted Event-Ace to fit smoothly in the existing processes and procedures and provide a seamless and user-friendly experience for everyone.”
Event-Ace is designed to make live demos, PowerPoint or any other digital content into an engaging presentation. Instead of only displaying digital content on a screen to watch, Event-Ace broadcasts it to attendees’ devices, allowing them to make notes, annotate, highlight and ask questions directly on the live content. All of their content, personalized information and notes collected at the event are stored in one place for easy access.
Meanwhile, Event-Ace’s artificial intelligence (AI) gathers information for organizers to provide insight into engagement, participation, usage and access for keynotes, education sessions, tech bars, product showcases and other presentations to help make data-driven decisions.
Event-Ace offers additional features such as live polling, CEU reporting and closed captioning built in. The platform also comes with a revenue-generating program specifically designed for the event’s sales team to sell to their exhibitors and sponsors.
According to Jay Tokosch, CEO of NoteAffect, the company has received encouraging feedback about Event-Ace so far.
“We previewed Event-Ace with some event industry specialists, and we heard things like ‘This will set a new standard in attendee experience’ and ‘You have built something really special here,’” Tokosch said. “Having worked with thousands of events over the past 14 years, we’ve learned a lot about what keeps attendees and exhibitors coming back.”
ExpoFP and IndoorAtlas
ExpoFP, an interactive floor plan provider, and IndoorAtlas, an indoor positioning platform, teamed up to create interactive floor plans with accurate indoor positioning and wayfinding. The technology allows expo attendees to easily locate their current position and find exhibitor booths, even in offline mode, and can be integrated into mobile event apps.
“Our interactive floor plans, empowered by blue-dot wayfinding, provide a seamless navigation experience that saves time and enhances visitors’ satisfaction,” said Ross Sudentas, CEO of ExpoFP. “We are thrilled to partner with IndoorAtlas to bring this game-changing solution to our clients, setting a new standard for indoor wayfinding services in the industry.”
The demand for indoor location-aware services has significantly grown, according to Erik Piehl, CEO of Indoor Atlas, and the company aims to meet the need for trade show organizers to continually enhance the customer experience. “Our aim is to provide innovative location-aware applications and services for global trade shows and to drive the digital transformation of the exhibition industry.”
With the new map technology, users can locate exhibitors, view exhibitor details, navigate with wayfinding and reserve booths online. Blue-dot wayfinding pinpoints attendees’ current locations and maps routes to their desired destinations within the expo, and the technology ensures precise location tracking inside buildings using the magnetic field and built-in inertial sensors in smartphones.
Additionally, exhibitors have the opportunity to generate additional revenue with featured listings, premium listings, logos in booths and logos in the header of the floor plan. ExpoFP’s demo floor plan case study shows that exhibitors with these options receive 450% to 550% more views over the period of three months, while trade show organizers can generate additional revenue upselling these features.
PCMA Event Leadership Institute
The Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) Event Leadership Institute (ELI) is offering a new certificate course to help event professionals harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI).
The five-week course, Enhancing Events with AI, begins Aug. 16 and will be taught by Nick Borelli, an industry expert in experience design, event technology and digital marketing.
The course is designed to provide a broad understanding of how AI functions, explore the most powerful and practical AI platforms and dive into real-world use cases where AI can revolutionize the marketing, planning, execution and data analysis of events.
The cost of the course is $556 for members of PCMA, Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA) and ELI, and $695 for non-members.
Map Your Show
Event management software provider Map Your Show implemented upgrades to its Exhibitor Resource Center, which acts as the central organizing hub for exhibitors and sponsors, helping them stay on top of event information all in one place.
“With the upgrades in the Exhibitor Resource Center, show organizers have a more powerful engine to create the best experience for their exhibitors and to drive additional show revenue through sponsorships and advertising," said Don Kline, CEO of Map Your Show.
Through the Exhibitor Resource Center, event organizers can quickly build an Exhibitor Portal with the key information exhibitors need for the event. With the Exhibitor Checklist, they can create a list of the key dates and deliverables for their exhibitors and sponsors and send email communications before, during and after the event. Exhibitor Resources link to the Exhibitor Portal and to the Exhibitor Checklist to provide one place for all the key information. Meanwhile, exhibitors can create their online show profile, access show leads and data, pay invoices and use Single Sign On to log in to expo vendors and suppliers. Show organizers can also offer advertising and sponsorship opportunities through the Exhibitor Resource Center.
