Medical Design & Manufacturing Conference Will Launch in Texas in March
UBM’s medical device event portfolio, which includes the MD&M West show that just wrapped in Anaheim last week, just grew a little bigger, with the addition of the Medical Design & Manufacturing Conference.
The new conference is on tap March 14-15 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The MD&M Texas Conference is designed to provide an innovative, holistic approach to medical device design and development presented by experienced medtech industry experts, according to conference organizers.
"Texas has enormous potential to become one of the leading centers for medical innovation. With its wealth of resources including academic and commercial, this region is uniquely positioned to influence the future of healthcare, and specifically the medical devices market. MD&M Texas is a great example of an event that brings together insights from a diverse group of thought leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs to address some of the most fundamental issues facing medical device developers and manufacturers today," Mir Imran, president of InCube Labs, who will be speaking at the conference.
Imran has founded more than 20 medical device companies and holds 200-plus issued patents for devices, including the first FDA-approved Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator and advanced treatments for neural aneurysms, epilepsy, ulcerative colitis, obesity and chronic pain.
He will be sharing his insights in the panel discussion on achieving speed to market on day one of the MD&M Texas Conference, according to conference organizers.
The two-day program is designed to facilitate networking and provide practical solutions to challenges faced by both large and small scale medical technology companies.
The first day will offer eight sessions, including human factors, supplier controls, IEC 60601 and an expert panel on achieving speed to market.
The second day will provide step-by-step guidance on 510(k) updates and managing change control as two half-day workshops unique to MD&M Texas.
