The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has hired June Ko onto the association's staff as Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations. Ko is based in IAAPA's Hong Kong office.
"We are excited to have June join our team," said IAAPA President and CEO Paul Noland. "June's extensive experience in the region with a wide variety of businesses will be a significant asset to IAAPA as we focus on growing our presence and taking care of our members within the market."

This week, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) opened the 7th edition of the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The fair, running from 6th to 8th November, opened with more than 1,000 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions.
This year’s wine & spirits fair is themed “Leisure in Chateau”, and will be attended by more than 70 buying missions consisting of 2,000 international companies organised by the HKTDC. First-time exhibitors this year include those from Belarus, Colombia and Macedonia. A new addition… more

Co-located industrial events, PTC Asia, ComVac Asia and CeMAT Asia were recently held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from 27th 30th October 2014. In total, Hannover Milano Fairs’ four-day trade shows covered some 134,000 m2 of gross exhibition space.

The new Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (ZICEC) recently opened to add 30,000 m2 of exhibition space to the Pearl River Delta region in southern China. With an initial investment of US$1.1 billion, the venue was developed by Zhuhai’s leading state-owned enterprise, Huafa Group, and managed by Beijing’s China National Convention Center (CNCC).

Event organiser Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), a member company of Allworld Exhibitions Alliance, has announced the appointment of Lindy Wee as the company’s new chief executive effective 1st January 2015.
Ms Wee currently serves as deputy chief executive of SES and will succeed the outgoing chief executive, Stephen Tan, who has served as chief executive since 1989. Tan will assume the role of chairman of SES at the end of his tenure. Ms Wee has more than 30 years of MICE-related experience since joining SES in 1983.

The SEMA Show, organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association, filled the Las Vegas Convention Center last week from Nov. 4-7.
It attracted more than 140,000 qualified trade attendees from 130 countries, used 1.13 million net square feet of exhibit space (indoors and outside), showcased 2,400+ exhibitors (550 new ones), was covered by over 3,500 international media and had 1.500 vehicles on display.

The Consumer Electronics Association has unveiled that Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management at AUDI AG, will deliver a preshow keynote address at the 2015 International CES Asia.
The inaugural event will run May 25-27 in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) and will draw global businesses to showcase the latest products and technologies entering the Asian marketplace.

The Georgia World Congress Center recently was awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The GWCC is now the world’s largest LEED-certified convention center. With 3.9 million square feet, the GWCC is also the 14th largest LEED-certified building in the world.
