Expo Logic, a trade show services company that specializes in event registration and lead retrieval, now is offering LeadPod, the company’s first lead retrieval app for mobile devices.
“The use of smart phones for lead retrieval systems is an emerging and growing trend in the trade show industry,” says Jeff Cooper, president and CEO of Expo Logic.

The 2013 edition of Automechanika Shanghai will expand to all 17 halls, covering 200,000 square meters Dec. 10-13 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) and the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation, the show is now the world’s second-largest Automechanika show for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, with the largest one being held in Frankfurt, Germany.

For a long time, trade show organizers wanting to expand their portfolios cast their eyes on the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries, but recently, they have started taking a closer look at Mexico, a country poised for growth.

The Offshore Technology Conference unveiled at its recent event in Houston that it will take its show overseas next year to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
OTC Asia 2014 will take place March 25-28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. OTC already has held an event in Brazil in 2011 and will again this year.

With the United States identified by hosted buyers attending CIBTM, as one of the top destinations of interest, the show has introduced a dedicated U.S. pavilion on the show floor, which will allow U.S. exhibitors to target the China meetings market.
The new pavilion at CIBTM, part of the Reed Travel Exhibitions portfolio, will provide a dedicated meeting area for exhibitors to showcase their products to visitors and hosted buyers with proven purchasing power.

Earlier this week, NASDAQ-listed Global Sources released first quarter results for the period ended 31st March 2012. Revenues were US$31.3million, down 20% compared with US$38.9million recorded in the same quarter last year. However, net income attributable to the company’s shareholders in the period was up 81% from US$3.1 million in the first quarter in 2012 to US$5.6 million this year. Diluted earnings per share in the quarter were US$0.16.

The fourth edition of the Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair received a new show-record of more than 210 exhibitors at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) – a jump of 26% over last year.
Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Medical & Healthcare Device Industries Association (HKMHDIA), the fair also received 35 buying missions to add to a total of around 1,100 buyers representing 774 companies.
