The Consumer Electronics Association named Denise Medved vice president of sales and business development for the International CES and International CES Asia.
Medved previously ran Tiny Kitchen Inc., where she served as president and CEO since its establishment in 2005. Tiny Kitchen ran shows such as the MetroCooking DC’s Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show, which recently had a majority stake acquired by E.J. Krause & Associates.

PMMI — The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies – wrapped up its biannual PACK EXPO International last week, along with the newly collocated Pharma EXPO 2014, and attracted a 6.5 percent increase in attendance, compared with 2012, topping 48,600 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
The four-day event was held Nov. 2-5 and covered more than 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, with 2,352 exhibiting companies - an increase of more than 19 percent, compared with PACK EXPO International 2012.

The SEMA Show, organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association, filled the Las Vegas Convention Center last week from Nov. 4-7.
It attracted more than 140,000 qualified trade attendees from 130 countries, used 1.13 million net square feet of exhibit space (indoors and outside), showcased 2,400+ exhibitors (550 new ones), was covered by over 3,500 international media and had 1.500 vehicles on display.

A few days before PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies’ PACK EXPO International opened Nov. 2-5 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, two staff members, Katie Bergmann and Jim Pittas, were upped to senior vice presidents.
The recent acquisition of Summit Media Group’s digital platform and the expansion of the PACK EXPO portfolio of trade shows can both be attributed to Bergmann and Pittas, according to PMMI officials.

More than 300 attendees from 46 nations gathered Oct. 29-Nov 1 in Bogota, Colombia, for UFI, The Global Association for the Exhibition Industry’s 81st Congress
The event has not been in Latin America since 1975 and will bring together leaders and strategic thinkers for a three-day review of the state of the exhibition industry.

The National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) 2014 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, which took place Oct. 21-23 in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center, held steady this year, with the number of attendees, exhibitors and size of showfloor on par with last year’s event.
