Park MGM’s Ideation Studio Unveils First-of-Its-Kind Meeting Capabilities with Cisco Technology

January 7, 2019

Not all that long ago, all meetings were conducted face-to-face. More recently, technology enabled virtual meetings. Today, a hybrid model allows for more participants spread across a wider geographical area but the challenge has continued to be around engagement. How do you keep remote participants engaged and how do you keep and share the data generated within the meeting?

Park MGM andCiscohave an answer: the new 7,000 square foot Ideation Studio. With the opening of the Studio, Las Vegas’ Park MGM is the world’s first hotel to offer groups Cisco Webex Boards and Cisco Webex Teams technology. These tools help to provide a combined real and virtual meeting space for collaborating, video calling, whiteboarding and sharing notes, files and presentations.

The Ideation Studio offers 10 rooms with four distinct layouts to accommodate groups ranging in size from six to 24. The layout and design elements are based on behavioral science and how people interact with the environment. Chair and table height, lighting, flooring and room configurations were selected to enhance engagement and the flow of ideas. Whiteboard wall surfaces are built in, eliminating the need for flip charts.

Each room comes with at least one state-of-the-art Cisco Webex Board, allowing for full HD video teleconferencing, audio conferencing and collaboration annotative capabilities at the touch of a button. Remote participants are able to securely and easily connect to the same virtual meeting spaces.

All of the Innovation Studio’s technology, including lighting, can be controlled from a wall-mounted touchscreen. Plus, no wires and no passcodes are required – Ideation Studio recognizes each person’s device as they enter their designated room, regardless of the type of device, make or model.

Tackling the problem of documentation, the studio can also capture any meeting notes. Organizers can make notes, along with any meeting materials, accessible long after the meeting ends.

The technologically advanced system, along with the science-based configurations and room features, played a key part in the Ideation Studio’s acceptance into the IACC, an elite group of 300 conferencing venues in 26 countries that strive to represent the top one percent of meeting spaces worldwide.

“The designs of Park MGM’s Ideation Studio have taken into consideration many of the trends and preferences from meeting planners that IACC has identified through its research,” said Mark Cooper, CEO of IACC.

He continued, “The Park MGM leadership team has poured so much dedication and passion into developing a haven for small meetings and we look forward to bringing our own events to these inspiring meeting spaces in the future.”

The Ideation Studio opening marks the completion of The Meeting Center at Park MGM. The 77,000 sq. ft. conference area features an expansive ballroom, 29 meeting rooms, a 4,345 sq. ft. private outdoor terrace, and the Madison Meeting Center.

The resort’s 30,000 sq. ft. Park Theater can also be used as event space and is able to accommodate up to 5,200 guests.
