ASAE Technology Conference Emphasized Innovation, Challenges and Opportunities for Association Industry

More than 1,000 association and industry professionals converged at ASAE’s 2017 Technology Conference & Expo, held Dec 11-13 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

Designed to meet the needs of an increasingly technology-driven community, the event hosted 1,060 CIOs, CEOs and technology and association professionals, who participated in 25 high-level education sessions and walked a sold-out expo hall featuring 132 exhibiting companies.

UFI’s World Map of Exhibition Venues Data Shows Growth of Global Venue Space

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has released its full 2017 report on the World Map of Exhibition Venues.

The report analyzes indicators on key regional trends and includes the largest venues for all 28 markets with a total capacity exceeding 200,000 square meters (more than 2 million sq. ft.) of gross indoor exhibition space.

Streampoint Launches Apple Wallet Integration for Event Registration

Streampoint Solutions, a provider of event management tools for the conference, tradeshow and special events community, recently launched new functionality in the form of Apple Wallet integration.

The new offering, launched Dec. 13 at the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)’s annual Expo! Expo! conference and trade show, integrates Apple Wallet with Streampoint’s event registration and housing solutions.

With all the detailed planning that goes into major trade shows, conferences and other large events, often overlooked is one segment of attendees that does need some special attention: individuals with disabilities.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 53 million adults in the U.S. have a disability. Their disabilities, however, don’t stop many of them from attending events. Event planners know this and are much more focused today on creating accessible events. Still, there’s more that can be done.

Caesars Entertainment Unveils Plans for $375 Million Conference Center in Las Vegas 

Caesars Entertainment Corporation will develop CAESARS FORUM, a new 550,000 square foot conference center on the east side of the Las Vegas Strip.

Featuring 300,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, the $375 million facility will include two of the largest pillarless ballrooms in North America, according to Caesars officials.
