NASDAQ-listed Global Sources held its fashion sourcing show last week from 27th to 30th April at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). More than 1,500 booths were featured at three concurrent events: Fashion Accessories & Footwear, Fashion Apparel & Fabrics, and Underwear & Swimwear.

Korean venue and organiser, Coex, announced plans to launch its first premium lifestyle show in China, Stylish Life China to be held from 5th to 9th November 2016 at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention Center.
Organised by Coex and the Sichuan International Exhibition Company, Stylish Life China will cover a wide range of topics including living design, wedding and beauty, fashion retail, baby and kids, coffee and bakery, and retail and franchise. South Korea’s MICE industry was significantly affected by MERS last year. According to the Busan Tourism Organization (BTO), in Busan, from May to July 2015, incentive events dropped from 54 to 26, seven international business events were cancelled and 200 domestic business events were cancelled or delayed.

The 25th Shanghai International Hospitality Equipment & Supply Expo (HOTELEX Shanghai 2016) ran from 29th March to 1st April at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). UBM reports that the four-day show attracted more than 126,000 professional visitors from 116 countries and regions which is an increase of 30% compared with the previous edition.

Mark Shashoua, who currently is CEO of London-based i2i Events Group, now will be stepping back into a familiar place, as CEO of ITE Group, also based in London. Shashoua was one of the original founders of ITE Group in the early 1990’s.
Shashoua will succeed Russell Taylor, who will stand down Sept. 1 from the Board and as the Group’s CEO, following thirteen years at the company.

Convention Data Services added a Lead Retrieval Dashboard to the CDS X·Press Reports event management tool.
The new dashboard provides show management with a deeper understanding of exhibit hall activity and charts important data on exhibitor and attendee behavior.
The product, which analyzes data collected from scans on all CDS lead retrieval devices, provides a unique display of the aggregated data.
This data can be accessed during the show or post-show by all onsite and remotely located show management staff to monitor the activity and progress of the event.
