The Gwangju Convention and Visitor Bureau has announced plans to expand the exhibition facilities at the Kimdaejung Convention Center (KDJCC). At a cost of US$60 million, an additional 18,000 square meters of exhibition and convention space will be added to bring the total venue space up to 53,000 square meters. Construction is set to begin in August this year and is scheduled to be completed by April 2013. Reed Exhibitions and the Indonesian Panorama Group have formed Reed Panorama Exhibitions (RPE), a joint venture which plans to organise trade shows in Indonesia. As part of the partnership arrangement, Panorama Group’s MICE division, Panorama Convex Indah, will be rolled into RPE and renamed Panorama Meetings and Events. RPE will hold its first exhibition, Indonesia Mining & Engineering from 10th to 12th October this year at the Jakarta Convention Centre. In a partnership between two for-profit trade show companies, 1105 Media has teamed up with Bobit Business Media to relaunch law enforcement show TREXPO May 13-15 at the Walter E. Washington (D.C.) Convention Center. The TREXPO show will run alongside 1105’s GovSec Government Security Conference & Expo and the Contingency Planning & Management Conference & Expo. The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute’s Expo Pack Mexico has sold out all of its exhibit space in advance of the June 26-29 event at Centro Banamex in Mexico City. As I am walking up Ala Wai Boulevard to the Hawaii Convention Center, I see that the back of the Hawaii Convention Center abuts the Ala Wai Canal.
